A Culturally-Grounded Wellness Framework
Rooted in the principle of "Nothing About Us, Without Us" — our framework honors the whole person across every domain of life.

Four Guiding Principles
The foundation of every program, every relationship, and every healing plan we develop together.
Wellness & Prevention
Healing begins before crisis. We prioritize proactive wellness — building the mental, emotional, and cultural resilience that allows individuals and families to thrive before challenges escalate. Prevention is not passive; it is active investment in life.
Rehabilitation
We believe in the human capacity for change. Rehabilitation is not about returning to a former state — it is about building something new. Our approach supports individuals in rewriting their story through accountability, support, and cultural reconnection.
Reintegration
Sustainable healing requires reintegration into family, community, and meaningful purpose. We walk alongside individuals as they rebuild relationships, re-establish roles, and reconnect with the communities and traditions that ground them.
Cultural Identity
For Alaska Native peoples, identity is inseparable from healing. Our programs honor Athabascan values, traditional practices, and the wisdom of Elders as core therapeutic tools — because who you are is where your strength begins.
Healing the Whole Life
Our framework recognizes that lasting wellness cannot be confined to a clinic. It must be addressed across every dimension of a person's daily life.
Domain 1: Home & Family
The home is the first school, the first church, and the first community. Healing within the family system creates the stable foundation every person needs to grow.
- Family reunification and relationship repair
- Parenting skills and positive family dynamics
- Safe and stable housing support
- Intergenerational trauma healing
Domain 2: School & Work
Education and meaningful employment are pathways to dignity and self-determination. We support individuals in accessing and sustaining opportunities that build a future.
- Educational access and vocational support
- Employment readiness and job placement
- Reentry planning and workforce transition
- Life skills and financial literacy
Domain 3: Community & Culture
Connection to community and culture is not peripheral to healing — it is central to it. Identity, belonging, and tradition are the medicine that no prescription can replace.
- Cultural reconnection and traditional practices
- Community engagement and civic participation
- Elder connection and mentorship
- Peer support circles and healing communities
Our Approach in Practice
Three evidence-based, culturally grounded methods that translate our framework into real, measurable, meaningful change in people's lives.
Healing Circles
Grounded in Indigenous tradition, Healing Circles create safe, structured spaces for individuals to speak, be heard, and heal together. Facilitated by trained peer supporters with lived experience, these circles build connection, reduce isolation, and restore a sense of community belonging that is fundamental to recovery.
Communimetric Assessment
We use the Communimetric framework — a validated, person-centered assessment tool — to identify strengths and needs across all three life domains. This ensures our services are targeted, trackable, and genuinely responsive to each individual's whole-life situation rather than isolated symptoms.
Individualized Healing Plans
No two people share the same journey. Each participant works with a Peer Support Professional to develop a personalized healing plan that reflects their unique strengths, challenges, cultural background, and goals. Plans are living documents — evolving as the person grows.
